Your data on LMSystems.ai

Last updated October 22, 2026. This policy covers www.lmsystems.ai, the LMSystems.ai app and its quiz pages.

  • We do not sell your data

We never sell, rent or trade the personal information of teachers, students or anyone else. We do not share it for advertising, we show no ads, and we do not use it to market other products to you or your students. We use it only to run LMSystems.ai.

  • What teachers give us

Your name and email. When you sign in with Google, the name, email and profile picture your Google account shares. What you tell us when you set up your account: your role, city, schools, the grades and subjects you teach, and what your students call you. Your profile photo and school, if you add them. Your quizzes, rubrics and courses, the files you upload (such as rubrics, syllabi, readings and videos), your chats with the quiz assistant, and your settings.

  • What students give us

A student's name and email, typed on a quiz or from signing in with an email code or Google. Their answers, the files they attach to them, and the grades and feedback on them. Their messages to the student helper, when the teacher turns it on. How long they spent on each question, and whether they pasted text into an answer. On a lockdown quiz, how often and how long they left the quiz.

  • Dictation

When a teacher or student uses the microphone to dictate, the recording is turned into words as they speak and is not saved. Only the words they keep in their answer or quiz are saved.

  • Payments

Stripe takes the payments for the Teacher plan and extra credits. Your card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers. We keep your Stripe customer number, your plan and its status, and what you paid and when.

  • Canvas

If you connect your Canvas account, we keep its access key encrypted and use it only to read the courses you ask us to copy: their quizzes, assignments and files, and, if you ask, their students' names and emails, so we can invite them. We never change anything in Canvas.

  • What we collect when you use the site

One cookie keeps you signed in, for up to 30 days. Another lasts only while you sign in with Google. The quiz page keeps answers that are not sent yet in your browser, so a reload or a lost connection does not lose them. We use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Our servers log requests, such as the IP address and browser, to keep the service secure and to fix problems. We count the AI credits each feature uses, and when a teacher views or clicks an upgrade message.

  • How we use it

To run LMSystems.ai: to sign you in, save and grade quizzes, show teachers their students' work, and bill for the Teacher plan. To send the emails the service needs: sign-in codes, the quiz and course invites a teacher sends, and account emails about your usage, your trial and your payments. To keep the service secure and to fix problems. We do not use your quizzes, answers or chats to train AI models.

  • AI features

Each AI feature sends our AI providers only what it needs: answers, questions, rubrics and files to grade and give feedback, helper messages, what a teacher asks the quiz assistant, the files a teacher uploads (to label them), question text (to read it aloud), and video briefs. Our AI providers are OpenAI, Anthropic and Google (Gemini). Our AI service runs on LangSmith, by LangChain, which keeps a record of each AI request for up to 14 days so we can fix problems. A teacher can turn AI grading off for a quiz, and can always grade by hand.

  • Who can see it

A teacher sees the work students turn in on their quizzes and courses, and the teachers they invite to a course see that course's work. A student sees only their own work, and only the scores, feedback and answers their teacher's settings allow. When a teacher shares a quiz on Explore, other teachers see it with the teacher's name, school and photo. The teacher's email shows only if they turn that on. Student information never appears on Explore.

  • Companies that help us run the service

Each of these companies gets only what it needs to do its job for us: Google Cloud (our servers), Vercel (the website), MongoDB Atlas (our database), Amazon Web Services (stored files), Postmark (email), Stripe (payments), OpenAI, Anthropic and Google (AI features, Google sign-in, and the school search when you set up your account), and LangChain (our AI service). We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our users. If LMSystems.ai is merged with or bought by another company, this policy still covers the information you gave us.

  • Students and schools

Students use LMSystems.ai through their teacher or school. We collect student information only to give the service to that teacher or school, never for ads and never to sell. When a school or teacher uses LMSystems.ai with students under 13, they agree to it for school use on behalf of the parents. A parent or student can ask to see, correct or delete the student's information: ask the teacher, or write to us.

  • Keeping and deleting

We keep your information while your account is open. When a teacher deletes a quiz, its responses, helper chats, recordings and files are deleted. When a teacher deletes a course, its files are deleted. To delete your account and everything in it, write to us. We do it within 30 days, except for payment records that the law tells us to keep.

  • Security

Every connection to LMSystems.ai is encrypted (HTTPS). Scripts on the page cannot read your sign-in cookie, Canvas access keys are encrypted, and card details never reach our servers. Only a quiz's teacher, and the teachers they invite, can open its responses. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you.

  • Where it is stored

LMSystems.ai runs in the United States. Your information is stored and processed there.

  • Lockdown quizzes

The LMSystems Lockdown Chrome extension has its own privacy policy. When a teacher also requires the camera on a Lockdown quiz, the quiz page shows students their own camera while they take it, and, after the student agrees, uses it for face monitoring: in the student's browser, it checks where they look and how many faces are in view, and saves each long look away, and each time no face or more than one face was in view, with its time and length. To leave out a look down while the student types, it also notes when a key is pressed, never which key, and saves none of it. Only the student's teacher sees those events. The face measurements the browser makes from the video stay on the student's device, and face monitoring never identifies who a student is. The quiz page also records the student's camera and entire screen, and everything on it, while they take the quiz, and sends the recordings to us. Only the quiz's teacher, and the teachers they invite, can watch them. We delete them 30 days after they are made, or when the teacher deletes the quiz. The browser keeps its last calibration (how the student's eyes point at the screen) on that device only, so a later quiz needs just a short check.

  • Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its date. Questions, or a request to see or delete your information: sean@lmsystems.ai.
