Notice to schools

Students under 13 on LMSystems.ai

Last updated October 28, 2026. Teachers: give this page to your school, so it can decide on behalf of parents.

  • Why your school gets this notice

Under the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), a school can agree, on behalf of parents, to its students under 13 using an online service for school. This notice tells the school what LMSystems.ai collects from students and what we do with it, so the school can decide. The school's consent covers school use only.

  • Who we are

LMSystems.ai runs the LMSystems.ai website, app and quiz pages. Teachers use it to give quizzes and grade them. Contact: sean@lmsystems.ai.

  • What we collect from students

A student's name and email, typed on a quiz or from signing in with an email code or Google. Their answers, the files they attach to them, and the grades and feedback on them. Their messages to the student helper, when the teacher turns it on. How long they spent on each question, and whether they pasted text into an answer. On a lockdown quiz, how often and how long they left the quiz. On a quiz that needs the camera, and only after the student agrees: recordings of their camera and screen, each long look away from the screen, and each time no face or more than one face was in view. Our servers also log requests, such as the IP address and browser.

  • How we use it

Only to give the school the service: to sign students in, to give and grade quizzes, to show teachers their students' work, and to keep the service secure. Each AI feature sends our AI providers only what it needs, such as an answer to grade.

  • What we never do

We never sell student information. We never use it for ads, or to market anything to students. We never use it to train AI models.

  • Who sees it

The student's teacher, and the teachers they invite to the course. The companies that help us run the service, each only what it needs: they are listed in our privacy policy. Student information never appears on Explore, where teachers share quizzes.

  • What parents and the school can do

A parent or the school can ask to see a student's information, to delete it, or to stop us collecting more. Ask the teacher, or write to sean@lmsystems.ai. Before we show or delete a child's information, we check that the request comes from the parent, the school or the teacher. When the school or a parent takes back consent, we stop collecting the student's information and delete it.

  • How long we keep it

We keep a student's information only while their teacher uses it for school. We delete a student's data 12 months after their teacher's last sign-in. It is deleted sooner when the teacher deletes the quiz it belongs to, or deletes their account. Camera and screen recordings are deleted 30 days after they are made. When the school or a parent asks, we delete a student's information within 30 days.

  • Security

Every connection to LMSystems.ai is encrypted (HTTPS). Only a quiz's teacher, and the teachers they invite, can open its responses. If a breach affects students' information, we tell their schools without undue delay.

  • Changes

If this notice changes, we will update this page and its date. Before we use student information in a new way, we ask the school first.
